The 2023 US Open has reached the final weekend. There will be new champions in 2023. Coco Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the women’s final on Saturday night to win her first major. And the weekend’s final event will be the men’s final where Novak Djokovic takes on Daniil Medvedev.
This is a rematch from the 2021 US Open men’s final, where Medvedev dominated Djokovic to win his first major championship. In addition, this is Medvedev’s third trip to the final in five years. He was a runner-up in 2019 and obviously won in 2021, and now looks for a second title. He has been unstoppable on hardcourts this season. Medvedev has reached other major finals in Australia, losing to both Rafael Nadal (up two sets to none) and Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic is excellent on this surface as well but has not lifted the trophy since 2018. As a matter of fact, no man has repeated as US Open champion since Roger Federer won five straight from 2004-2008. Djokovic will look for more history as he looks to win his 24th Grand Slam title. He has also reached every Major Final in a season and looking to win three of the four major titles in a season for the third time in his career.
Remember, it was Medvedev that stopped Djokovic’s bid for the calendar Grand Slam in 2021 and Novak has not forgotten. This will be an excellent match. Two former US Open champions looking to go at it.
Full Press Bets and Coverage has already taken a look at the men’s semifinals for the US Open. Let’s dive into the men’s title to see who will win the title. It will either be Djokovic’s 24th major title or Medvedev’s second.

2023 US Open Final Odds
Daniil Medvedev (+205) vs Novak Djokovic (-250)
The 23-time Grand Slam champion is the heavy favorite. As expected. However, do not sleep on Medvedev. He is back to his 2021 level. Not to mention, Medvedev is the hardcourt specialist for a reason. While his summer hardcourt season was not the greatest, he has found his form in New York.
Look, Medvedev went on a streak early in the season, winning four of five titles. All of them are on hardcourts. In addition, Djokovic’s only loss on hardcourt this season was to Medvedev in the Dubai semifinals. So, Medvedev has the ability to out-hit his opponent off the court. Oh, yeah, he can out-serve them, too. Yes, Medvedev stands way back to return, but his reach drives opponents nuts. He did that to Djokovic in 2021 and in the semifinals against the World No. 1 and Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Medvedev won a tight first set in a tiebreak, saving two break points in the fifth point. He was able to find his game and frustrate Alcaraz to win the first two sets before Alcaraz started to find his game in the third set. But Medvedev got the crucial break in the fourth set to defeat Alcaraz 76 61 36 63. Medvedev was able to win those long games, saving break points. Though he could not convert until his fourth match point, Medvedev showed why he has won a major before.
No surprise Djokovic is back in the final. Shelton just did not have the game to match Djokovic. Djokovic won in straight sets 63 62 76. Yes, Shelton found his game in the third set, but it was too little too late. Djokovic is the master of the tiebreak. He just lets his opponents beat themselves. While the celebration is the topic of conversation, because he stole Shelton’s Phone Celebration, Djokovic knows how to win those big matches. He is pretty much unstoppable when he gets to this point at the US Open.
This is going to be a fun match. Expect this match to go four or five sets. It would be very surprising to see either man to win the title in straight sets. This match will be played under the roof with the weather. That maybe advantage Djokovic, but again don’t count out Medvedev.
That does it for your 2023 US Open Men’s Final betting odds preview.
